So I finally took delivery of my new car last week and I'm already paranoid about keeping the paint in good condition, especially since my daily commute involves a lot of highway driving out to the industrial areas where there's always gravel and debris flying around. I've already got a tiny chip on the hood and honestly my heart sank when I spotted it because the car hasn't even hit 1000km yet. I've been doing tons of research and it seems like the general consensus is that ceramic coating is great for gloss and making washing easier, but it doesn't really protect against physical impact like stones and sand particles . That's why I've been leaning more towards PPF because I've seen those videos where people peel it off and the paint underneath is completely untouched, which sounds exactly like what I need. The only thing holding me back is that I keep hearing horror stories about cheap film turning yellow or leaving glue residue behind when you remove it, so I definitely want to go with a reputable brand like XPEL or 3M and make sure the installation is done properly without any seams showing or edges peeling up . I've been asking around and trying to find a leading paint protection film provider in Abu Dhabi that can do a proper job with quality materials . If anyone has firsthand experience with a place that offers 10-year warranties and uses computer-cut patterns for a seamless fit, I'd really appreciate a recommendation . Does anyone here have firsthand experience with PPF and can tell me if it's really worth the investment or if I'm just being overly protective of a car that's going to get wear and tear anyway? Also, how do you maintain it once it's on, do you still wax it or use special cleaners?
